Underfloor heating, designed for even and efficient warmth.

Wet underfloor heating is comfortable and efficient, and it pairs well with a heat pump. When it is not balanced, or a manifold valve or pump fails, some rooms stay cold. We find out why and fix it.

In short

C. Kenneally installs, balances and repairs wet underfloor heating in Cork homes, including manifolds, pumps, actuators and controls. Underfloor heating pairs well with a heat pump. If some rooms stay cold, the cause is usually balancing, a failed actuator or a pump, and we find which before replacing anything.

What we do

  • Fault finding when one zone or room will not heat.
  • Manifold actuators, flow meters, mixing valves and pumps replaced.
  • Balancing the loops so every room heats at the same rate.
  • Thermostats and wiring centres upgraded, including smart controls.
  • Underfloor designed into heat pump installations where the floor allows.

Why underfloor suits a heat pump

Underfloor heating spreads heat across a large area, so it runs at a lower water temperature than radiators. Heat pumps are most efficient at low water temperatures. See Heat Pumps.

Electric underfloor

We work on wet (water) underfloor systems. Electric mats in bathrooms need an electrician; we can work alongside one on a bathroom refit.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can you add underfloor heating to an existing house?

Sometimes. It usually needs the floor lifted or a low-profile system laid over it, so it is most often done in an extension or during a major renovation. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth it.
