Privacy Policy

How we use the information you give us when you book, ask for a quote, call, WhatsApp or email us. Written for Irish law: the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011).

Who we are

C. Kenneally Heating & Plumbing (Christy Kenneally) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and when you contact us. VAT number: IE7030150A. Office: Building 1000, Units 1201 & 1202, City Gate, Mahon, Cork T12 W7CV. Email: [email protected]. Phone: 085 747 2720.

What we collect

  • Your name, phone number, email and the address or Eircode of the job.
  • What you tell us about the job, and any photos or documents you send — through the website, by WhatsApp or by email.
  • Records of the work we do: service records, gas certificates (Declarations of Conformance), warranty registrations and grant paperwork.
  • Basic, anonymous website usage information, only if analytics is switched on and you have agreed to it.

Why we use it, and the legal basis

  • To reply to you, quote and book the work — because you asked us to (taking steps before a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • To do the work and keep gas, safety and warranty records — to perform the contract and because the law requires certain records (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c)).
  • To keep job history so we can service your system properly next time — our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • To send service reminders by text, WhatsApp or email — only if you tick the box to ask for them (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy Regulations). You can stop them at any time by replying STOP or emailing us.

Who we share it with

Only those needed to do the job — for example a boiler manufacturer for warranty registration, SEAI for grant paperwork, the Registered Gas Installer scheme where gas certificates are lodged, and our IT, email and messaging providers. If you contact us by WhatsApp, WhatsApp (Meta) processes those messages under its own privacy policy. Some providers may store data outside the EEA; where they do, they use the safeguards the GDPR requires. We do not sell your data or share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted within 12 months. Job, gas and service records are kept for as long as they are needed for safety, warranty and legal purposes, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format, by emailing [email protected]. Where you gave consent (for reminders), you can withdraw it at any time. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
