Landlord heating and gas checklist
One page to print and keep with each property file. Tick each item once a year.
Every year, for each property
- ☐ Gas safety check by a Registered Gas Installer, with the written record kept on file.
- ☐ Boiler serviced (gas or oil), with the service record kept on file.
- ☐ A Declaration of Conformance on file for any new gas appliance or gas work.
- ☐ Carbon monoxide alarm fitted where there is a fuel-burning appliance, tested, and within its expiry date.
- ☐ The tenant can control the heating (a working thermostat or controls they can reach).
- ☐ Gas, oil and electrical installations in good repair and safe working order.
- ☐ Tenant told what to do if they smell gas or a CO alarm goes off.
