Baxi E133 fault code — what it means

Short answer

E133 on a Baxi boiler means the boiler did not establish a flame — the gas supply was interrupted or the boiler could not light. Check the gas supply first, then the condensate pipe in cold weather. If both are fine, it needs a Registered Gas Installer.

What changes the answer

  • whether other gas appliances work
  • cold weather
  • how often it has happened

What you can check yourself

  • check that a gas hob or gas fire lights
  • thaw a frozen condensate pipe with warm water
  • reset once as shown in the manual

What to do next

One reset is fine. If E133 returns, book a repair. Never take the casing off a gas boiler. Anything inside the case is a job for a Registered Gas Installer.
